Hi Everyone
I readied this e-mail with interest in that it made my point of why the need
for the AFO Cook Off Contest. This patient would be an idea patient for the
Cook Off it is obvious that CMT is not easily managed with the tools or
devices that we are using.
The goal of most of the responses was to accommodate for the contracture or
ROM problems are a given and can cause us to simply accept it and move on.
Is this what we should be paid for?
If not properly treated this condition gets worse with time, I agree with
this statement, but I think that the only goal should be to improve ROM or
at least to stop the contracture.
Do we wait for Drs that make money from the contracture surgeries to come up
with a solution?
The last question is; how do we find new ideas and get them to the patients?
