Dear List,
Just a note to make you aware that the US Amputee Hockey Team
recently traveled to the Washington D.C. area for its first International
Mini-Tournament against the Russians and the Canadians as part of a Play
for Peace Initiative. The US beat the Russians 2-0, but didn't have as
much
luck with the Canadian Team, losing 5-1 and then 1-0. The effort did
make NPR's All Things Considered on Friday March 9. There is a link to
to the radio piece at www.amputeehockey.org. The US team
will be going to Toronto at the end of May for the final Can - Am event of
the season and is still recruiting. If you hear about or see amputees that
would be interested, (I think US or otherwise), contact David Crandell, MD
