I was asked to look into myoelectric hooks for a patient. His upper
extremity length is just proximal to the humeral condyles. He may have
part of the lateral condyle as there is a bony protrusion. He has been
wearing a body powered hook to work but believes that a myo may provide
him better control. This would translate into more actions in a shorter
period of time. My knowledge of myoelectrics is minimal for lack of
upper extremity amputation patients in our area. I see in the Hosmer
catalog a hook called Synergetic prehensor. If you are familiar with
this one or any other myo hook please relate your experiences and if you
know resources where I can read up on the available hooks on the market
pass that along too.
thanks
