Dear Tony Barr, Peter Poetsma, Stephen Blatchford and List members;
Tony showed the statistics of the number of amputees in the United States and
Stephan showed that in UK. I think many of you are interested in a
statistics of one of provinces in Japan. We have information of the number
of lower limb amputees who used prostheses. We also have year-to-year data
of new amputees. This time, I show you a part of that. The number of
bilateral amputees is very small. The background population is about 3.7
million. For your information, Japanese population is about 127 million. I
am not sure whether we can guess the number of amputees in Japan from this
statistics.
