Depending on limb tolerance, 5 - 10 visits for general walking & ADL, no external support. Monthly rechecks to see about shrinkage and accomodations, with possibly some advanced training for running and sports later when the residual limb is mature. Again depending on limb tolerance patient should be able to ambulate within a few visits but may need some continuing checks and training for ADL and work. Being only 3 weeks post op, the tissues are not ready for extensive weight bearing at one time. Better to do some short sessions and build up tolerance slowly than risk breakdown.
