A question for consideration...
If PT/OT/PTAs are named in the federal law to provide O&P care and not any
other profession, if OT/PTs have O&P in their scope of practice..as they are
pushing in their model practice act....and...if a state O&P board ceases to
exist because it can not be self funded...
What happens to the orthotists and prosthetists that are providing care in a
state that has a licensure board to regulate that practice (the OT/PT
board)? Are the O&P people grandfathered into PT? Are they going to be
required to gain additional education for OT/PT or pass OT/PT exams? or Are
they out of luck and flipping burgers at McDonalds?
