Dear US List Members,

Like a number of the list members, I am from outside the US and folow your opinions about qualified providers with much interest. The USA is still regarded by me as a example of sound management and solid structure. (Even after the mysterious Presidential election). In P-O, your ABC system is admired for the standard level provided, the Continues Education system and the P and separate O certification.

The above seems now not so relevant anymore, since many professionals in the Rehab sector -beside CP's and CO's- can provide complicated assistive devices, if I have understood well.

Could someone in the know make a neutral glossary that explains all the acronyms and abbreviations in this compelling story and post it on the list. (NOMA, OAPAA, National Board, LO, etc, etc.)

This will give some of us a better understanding how and by whom this issue is going to be solved and how others can learn from it.

Thanks in advance and wishing you luck in 2001.

Q: Will a practice or residence period in P or O, supervised by a OT or PT, taken into consideration???
A: Yes, and they will be named CBT's or LBT's.
