about gutter splint.
Ulnar gutter splint is used for the immobilzation of the boxer's
fracture.Isolated fracture of distal forth and fifth metacarpal bones is
known as the boxer's fracture.
The splint effectively immobilizes the forth and fifth finger,the forth and
fifth MCP joints, and the wrist.Easily fabricated from plaster casting
,fibre glass or with a splinting material.
A properly applied ulnar gutter splint will usually provide some pain relief
and prevent further injury and/or displacement of the fracture.
