Title:
Medicare giveaway legislation
Text:
O and P people are best trained to render O and P services, it is such a
simple concept I can't believe that AOPA was unable to convince the policy
makers of it. My crystal ball tells me that many PT organizations and
hospitals will see this as an opportunity to increase revenues by offering
selected O and P services that require minimal investment in staff and
machinery. Just watch utilization of certain codes go sky high. I don't know
about your practice, but I certainly do not want to get stuck doing just the
hard stuff. I think that no changes in Medicare policy would have been better
than this! If AOPA leadership is unable to get our message heard in the
upcoming negotiated rulemaking meetings then perhaps it is time to dump
AOPA as the voice of the practitioner and join NAAOP. What do you think?
