I evaluated a patient for possible use of an off loader type knee
orthosis. She is elderly, RT hemi, diabetic, with Left valgus of knee
causing lateral compartment syndrome with constant pain. Physician is
hesitant to do surgery. She does have enough M/L laxity in the knee to
consider the off loader.
The problem is she has approximately 30* flexion contracture.
Has anyone had experience fitting this type of contracture? What were
the results. Recommendations on brand of KO and why.
