HARTFORD, Conn., Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- On November 28, 2000, a class action
complaint (the Complaint) was filed in the United States District Court
for the District of Maryland on behalf of all purchasers of the common stock
of Hanger Orthopedic Group, Inc. (NYSE: HGR) (Hanger) from November 8,
1999 through and including January 6, 2000, inclusive (the Class Period).

its officers (collectively, the Defendants) violated Sections 10(b) and
20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 by, among other things,
knowingly or recklessly making material misrepresentations concerning (i)
Hanger's financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 1999 and (ii)
the progress of Hanger's efforts to integrate the recently-acquired
operations of Novacare Orthotics & Prosthetics, Inc. The Complaint further
alleges that by making these material misrepresentations, the Defendants
artificially inflated the price of Hanger common stock during the Class
Period. Plaintiff seek to recover damages on behalf of all class members.
