Have a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season, and thank you for your responses
again.
Hi Ed,
We have always used traction cord knotted at both ends and a plaster knife.
You make your cut before the plaster sets then wait until it sets before you
remove the impression.
Call me if you need more detail,

How bout aluminum strip ?
We use these with scotchcast (i.e. to run the knife blade along) and have no
problems, big or small foot.

I always use a narrow strip of orthopedic cow as my cutting strip, and that
is what I recommend in my technical workshops. It is very thin and flexible
so it follows the contours of the patients limb without distorting your
mold. The leather is soft and pliable enough that the saw will not cut
through it merely vibrates it. Hope this helps.

HI Ed
We use non latex tubing from fillauer . Its smaller in diameter than latex
but it works. Very expensive.
Ron
Greeting s to you as well!
It has been a long time since we have talked.
We first of all do not use cast saws except for one or two times per year if
we have a thick cast.
So we are using vinyl tubing or the casting strips you can get I believe
from cascade system in Washington state. Staff Vaseline the tube and pull
it out while the cast is set yet still green and use cast scissors in the
hollow left. I prefer to use the cutting strip with a scalpel on a green
cast. But I will also use the vinyl tube in the same situation using a
scalpel (I leave the tube or strip in.) : )
Other wise I have had the same problem with the cast saws on vinyl. You
could use the strip with the cast saw as well, but it will tend to glob up
as well.
Michael
Ed,
We order silicone tubing from Knit Rite. We called and asked if it was
latex free and were told yes. It holds up pretty good.
Carl
Hi Ed!
Hope all is well with you and yours! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
We use silicon tubing available from Knit-Rite. I have also ordered some
cut off gutters from Cascade but they haven't come in yet.
Jim
