Dear subscribers
I would appreciate your suggestions in regards to the following case.
Bilateral male, poor overall health, left AKA, right BKA, right residual limb
(transtibial) is 3 long and 60* contracted. My goal is to provide a
prosthesis that would aid the patient in transfers only. My first thought was
to fit him with a BK with thigh lacer. The question is how to achieve 90*
flexion due to his knee contracture? If somebody made step-up hinges for
BK-s!. Second thought was to treat his transtibial side as knee
disarticulation. However then the question is will that type of prosthesis
help him in transfers?
Thank you all.
