Paul-
Thank you for clarifying and updating the rules for the O&P Listserv. By
the way, I don't think you receive enough recognition for creating and
monitoring this Listserv.
I'm sure you remember my posting a couple of months ago in which I proposed
that this listserv be restricted to clinical discussions only. I didn't post
the results of my poll because I felt that many may have attempted to respond
but were hampered by the requirement at the time that the word URGENT appear
in the subject line. Certainly, activity on the listserv during that period
was reduced dramatically.
However, I think it's worth knowing that the results of my informal poll of
those Listserv members who responded was as follows: 22 responses were
received. Of those, 21 said they would prefer that the Listserv be
restricted to clinical issues only, Of those 21, one said that he would
restrict it to clinical subjects but would permit job openings also. Only 1
individual said that he would like to keep the listserv as it was. The
opinion of the percentage of the vast majority of respondants is quite clear.
Of course, since you're based in Florida, you may want a recount.
I think your plan to shift non clinical discussions that run ad nauseum off
the Listserv will help. But I have guarded enthusiasm. We'll see.
Thank you again for your hard work that has resulted in connecting
practitioners throughout this country and across this planet.
