I own five O and P facilities in Houston and have no interests, business or
otherwise in the state of Florida. Jerry Levitt's E mail to the OandP list
of todays date seems inflammatory and one sided. It seems awful unfair of
him to paint a picture of this individual without giving him an opportunity
to respond and/or defend himself. He may be the most disreputable
practitioner in Florida, and if so he obviously does not have my support,
but your unfair E mail makes me lean toward the unfairly treated.

I was once one of those sales representatives that fit braces on patients
and was greatly disliked by O and P facilities and their practitioners.
When state licensure passed in Texas, I was faced with a dilemma. Thinking
If you can't beat'um, join'um, I hired a certified orthotist, and opened
my first facility. We have seen unprecedented growth, been named on the
Inc. 500, and we are currently searching for our sixth practitioner (send
resume if interested). My point is this. Despite being State Licensure's
biggest success story and one of it's biggest proponents, I am still labeled
as not being an advocate of State Licensure.

I don't know who Hugh Panton is and have never heard of him, but give the
poor guy a chance to defend himself.
