Patient is a 74 year old woman with Left TKA and ruptured patella tendon. Quadriceps do not work against gravity. She can swing in gait and is fairly stable in stance with no hyperextension. She has a great deal of difficulty in standing from a seated position.
Prescription asks for a KO with 0 to 30 degrees flexion that can unlock for sitting.
Has anyone had experience with a Tricknee Joint, Becker #1016 using pins? It looks heavy. Dr. wants KO without an ankle foot component but I am not sure how realistic that is for this joint system. The only means for suspension of a KO would be supracondylar pads. She has the typical soft fleshy thighs of a large older woman.
