Time is running out....don't miss out on the Give Wings to Dreams 5K
Run/Walk this Sunday, October 8 in Washington, DC.
I don't have a superstar line-up of television icons at this event, but I
have a few people that are real superstars in my eyes.
Roy Perkins Jr, an active ten-year old boy, born without hands and feet,
will prove to everyone that a disability doesn't have to slow you down.
Perkins not only runs, but he also plays soccer and rides a tandem bicycle.
He recently teamed with his father to complete his first triathlon. He
received a special award as the event's most inspirational athlete. I
guarantee he will impress you too. Other athletes include Paralympian John
Register, an above-knee amputee who will lead us off in the National Anthem.
World Champion amputee athlete, Chase Baker will captain Team Pathfinder, a
team of amputee athletes from the east coast.
This is a race for all ages, abilities and disabilities...and will remind
you to make the most of your abilities.
The event is the Give Wings to Dreams 5K Run/Walk
8:00 a.m.
East Potomac Park/Hains Point
It's a fast, flat course and everyone will get a great sweatshirt.
Registration is only $18 ($20 race day).
