Dear O and P List members:
Perhaps a question and to share an interesting
finding:
Does anyone have any knowledge of thalidomide therapy
being used on cancer clients, as a preventative
measure. I have been working with a wonderful young
man who had undergone trans-femoral amputation
secondary to vascular sarcoma. He has continued to
have pain in every socket I have attempted over a two
year period, but could never pinpoint its source.
Over the past several months we have determined that
when he doesn't take the thalidomide, he is absolutely
pain free and can wear the prosthesis all day long.
He wants quality of life and doesn't want to continue
with the thalidomide; interestingly, he went off the
drug and another tumor was found...perhaps a
coincidence.

Thanks in advance for any input.
