Hello again members!
Because I have received very few responses to my post concerning technician
salaries, I thought I would be a little more forgiving on my request. It
seems a difficult venture gathering information on technician salaries in
this field and we want to be assured that we are in line with what we are
paying ours. Maybe other owners / managers out there are curious as well.
If I get some responses, I'll post them.
It's difficult to just use a yearly salary figure because level of
complexity of the job (basic laminating and doing shoe work vs. assembling
myoelectric elbows or managing a central fab lab) influences salary as much
a geographical location and experience.
So, I will try to make this easy for anyone interested in sharing this
information and I will indeed keep everything confidential. I will also try
to post responses in an organized format so that others can use this
information when their technicians ask for a $4/hour raise!!! Yeah, you
read that right. Please forward information as follows and thank you to all
who contribute:
* technician's salaries
* # years experience
* cost of living in your area as low, midrange, or high for the US
* rating of the tech (irreplaceably good, above average, fair)
* complexity of the job and/or basic everyday responsibilities
* any other pertinent information
Thank you all in advance,
Joan Cestaro, C.P.
