Hello,
I have been referred a 14 yo male, (8th grade) patient with the above
diagnosis. Our treatment goal is to stabilize his knees. On exam he has
hyper mobility in all ligaments. Lateral collateral laxity is greater than
MCL and results in a varus posture. Posterior cruciate laxity is greater
than ACL. As a little person he measures 12 1/2 at knee center, and what
would appear a proportional knee orthosis would be about 6-6 1/2 long.
They are currently ace wrapping the knees for some comfort and ??stability.
They would like to stay as simple as possible, understanding that we may
have to go through several options to achieve stability and allow him to
remain active.
If you have a suggestion or experience with something like this, please
reply.
Thanks in advance,
