List members - Mr. Gregson's post must be viewed for what it is: the acting
out of a deep seated problem of his own. I have known Ian on the internet for
6-7 years and have seen him performing this way many times. It seems to me
that the man has never been able to accept his amputation. Often a situation
such as this brings into play an underlying sense of sexuality which is
fragile enough to be threatened by what is encountered. My opinion.
As to these puzzling aberrations (fetishes, or better, the more accurate terms
apotemnophilia and acrotomophilia) the thing to keep in mind is that they
express a DEFICIENT SENSE OF SELF, the very core of any person's being....a
part of which (but only a part) is sexuality, normals and abnormals alike.
This fact is completely missed in the popular and superficial view of the
psychodynamics of the so-called devotees and wannabees. G. Boyer.
