Derek, I would call Norton - Symantec directly for help (customer service
- 800-441-7234). They're the company supports the Norton - AntiVirus
software. They may be able to diagnose you problem over the internet. I
believe they call this service LiveAdvisor.
I would like to request that all members of the list (who don't run up to
date virus protection) go out and buy some form of virus software. Paul
can do alot to stop viruses but it is ultimately up to the members of this
list to take the first responsibility. I would recommend Norton (I have
used McAfee in the past) Norton AntiVirus 2000 ($ 19) and or SystemWorks
2000 ($60) are inexpensive and have rebates that practically make them
free.
Second, Norton as well as other antivirus software have services that will
notify you every 10 - 14 days to update your antivirus, you then click
O.K. and walk away for a couple of minutes while your computer downloads
the new updates. This service is free for 6 months, then $30 a year after
that. You are always current, don't have to make mental notes to update,
and very well protected. You could probaly even buy and download the
software online at www.symantec.com.
Paul, can the list run virus protection that scans emails before they are
distributed to the members????
Hope everyone has a good day today!
