Dear List,
I understand that certain applications of the custom molded helmet code
will now require FDA approval, based upon the etiology in question. I
have been applying this same code for custom molded helmets with an
entirely different Dx than the FDA is now requiring oversight of, and
have indicated this via ICD 9 codes and Rx's. I have also had a recent
rash of denials for these services, after having them approved without
question for the past three years. Is there a connection? Anyone else
providing these services and seeing the same trend?
