Hi Wayne,
The group is becoming very difficult to organize. The O&P list-serv has stopped posting communications regarding our new group. Our O&P list is connected with O&P Business News and its sister publications. They, in turn, accept advertisements from manufacturers, Hanger owned and non-Hanger owned. Most of our new group's attention and/or criticism has been towards these manufacturers and their discounts to large chains and not to the independents. The manufacturers justify this practice citing volume as the reason, even though the independent O&P practitioner accounts for nearly 70% of all O&P goods sold.

You may want to discuss this with your own prosthetic practitioner. Ask him or her if they feel they pay more for the same components they use on your prosthesis as the big chains.

I'm familiar with your list-serv and it does a great job.

Regards,

Bob McCulloch
