I have been working with the owner of a local running store (VA) that is
helping to support the upcoming Give Wings to Dreams 5K Run/Walk on
October 8, 2000. She ends up having a bunch of single shoes for one reason
or another and was wondering if anyone out there could find use for them.
I realize most amputees with prosthetic devices wear 2 shoes, but while new
amputees are waiting for devices, they are typically only using 1 shoe if
they are on crutches. It would seem like an extra odd shoe would be nice so
one shoe does not become more worn than the other until the amputee is using
both shoes again.
These are adult running shoes, so a children's hospital would not be
appropriate. Please forward any advice you may have. I appreciate your
help.
