Sorry everyone. I accidently hit the send mail button before completing
this letter.

Thanks to everyone who responded. Before I proceed, I need to make clear
that I have deliberately not identified the provider or patient. This
occurred three years ago in a hospital located out of the geographic area
I provided services in. The provider is a credentialed orthotist. I know
nothing else about the provider that is appropriate for me to discuss.
About two years ago I reviewed the medical records from the hospital and
as best I can recall the IPOP was provided 2-3 days after surgery. I
reviewed this patients file from the provider's office. It had no
clinical notes; just a copy of the bill to the hospital for an IPOP. I
also reviewed the excellent clinical records from this patients current
prosthetist. It made reference to the IPOP as an IPOP with iceross type
insert and pin lock. That is all I have to go on. The prosthesis is not
available and the current prosthetist does not wish to get involved
because of the possibility of affecting his referral sources. The
provider will be giving his deposition on August 28th. I am almost
certain I will have one or more depositions regarding this. Today I
received information regarding the use of Iceross inserts for edema
control post operatively and I am awaiting more information from Iceland
regarding clinical trials in France where Iceross inserts are used post
operatively.
