I do not wish to debate ABC/BOC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I disagree with your
comments regarding ABC shutting out there own certified practitioners.
Any certified practitioner in one discipline can expand their scope of
practice to the other by fulfilling the ABC requirements. Is it easy? No.
Should be easy? No. If it were easy, everyone would do it. Kind of like
a Don Joy sales rep. obtaining state licensure as an orthotist or an ABC
CO/CP obtaining a credential from a credentialing body that has easier
requirements. Why does ABC make it difficult? To minimize the risk of
harm to the recipients of O & P care. ABC' s priority is not
reimbursement. It is quality patient care.
