Dear List Members:

I have received a request to provide a Duke Boot for
an individual that is diabetic and has an ulcer on his
ankle. The script also says not an Una Boot.

The physician has gone on vacation and I am not able
to speak with him. I have also contacted Duke
University O and P Department and they are not aware
of an orthosis with their name on it.

If anyone could provide me with some information it
would be very much appreciated. Also, from what I
understand, the Una Boot is a device that
Dermatologists use to treat ulcers. It is also
referred to as Una Paste; which I would guess is
some type of ointment that is incorporated in the
device. I would like to know if any orthotic
facilities are using this type of management.

Thanks in advance,

Mark Clary, CO
