Dear Jim Butts, RTO
Your questions regarding the Double Helix orthosis are very curious.
I'm one of only four clinicians involved in the development of
this device.
Where did you hear about this orthosis? I assume a patient/client
was seen in your office with this orthosis or is contemplating the
commitment to have one provided.
I appreciate the fact your first question was; Does it work?.
What does it work for? What pathologies and conditions is it
appropriate for? These are the relevant questions.
As to your question regarding cost. Frankly I feel it is completely
inappropriate. Worth or value is based on the end user alone.
The price you quoted is off base. This is not a forum to discus this
in any case.
As a list. It is appropriate for you or any one else to discuss orthotics
prosthetics. Technicians are most certainly encouraged to contribute in
our bourgeoning profession. However it concerns me you would ask these
question in the manner you have. Are you in practice of seeing people
on a pseudo clinical basis? I ask this as many unscrupulous Certifies
allow or expect Technicians to treat patients.
Who is your Clinician?

Subject: Double Helix Brace
Hello,
Has any one run across the double helix brace? Does it work? Is it worth the
$2000.00 asking price. Is this a reasonable brace treatment or is it another
COPES brace?
