Recent publicity about possible dangers of inhaling Vermiculite has led to
an interest in alternatives. In our lab, Vermiculite is mixed with plaster
to accomplish two goals:
1) To provide a softer cured plaster. This is particularly useful in
blending build ups into the surrounding positive model.
2) To reduce the weight of large plaster models.
What other materials are people using to accomplish these goals?
Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.
