Yes, this is very reasonable. If you take a piece of string and tie it
tightly around the top of your finger (closest to your hand) the distal
(part by your finger nail) end of your finger will swell up. If it were in
something like a socket on your prosthesis you would perceive tightness.
This is a long time understood principle in prosthetics. This is also what
started the principle of total contact and total surface bearing
sockets. Hope this helps.
