Being on the consumer side, I am an AK, I believe that Physical Therapist,
Certified Prosthetist, and Orthotists need to work together in order for the
patient/client to receive the best care. I can only hope that this will
happen one day.
You are right about there being many angry amputee's out here. Why, because
most of them can not get a good fitting socket. I believe they are more
remaining silent that are speaking up. I am not knocking your profession in
any way. I depend on it to be able to function in my everyday life. I have a
great relationship with my CP, Raymond Francis, and I believe this is the
main reason he makes me great fitting and functioning legs.
Almost every CP & CPO I have meet seemed to have a genuine care for their
clients/patients. I think this is the way to go for the future. The problem
is the bad apples out there are giving the profession a bad name. I have
personally had to deal with one (a bad apple) and it can lead to bitterness
in the long run.
Maybe the person who responded had recently had a run in with a bad apple.
