I have 40 years of experience as a Orthotist, the last 29 as a C.O.,
currently a Texas licensed Orthotist.
Over the years I have owned and or managed many different facilities in
different parts of the US.
Basic Training: Two private practices & U of Michigan O & P Lab. 60 - 71
Academic Training: Northwestern & New York University with some community
college 65 - 71
Certification: A.B.C., Certified Orthotist 1971, #821
Licensure: State of Texas, Licensed Orthotist 1999, #10017
Current Memberships: AAOP since 1971, AAOP Spinal Orthotics & Lower Limb
Societies since 1991, Texas Association of Orthotists & Prosthetists since
1998, Texas Chapter of AAOP since 1998.
Honors: 11 different leadership responsibilities, primarily in O&P over the
years.
CEU's: All mandatory Continuing Education Credits maintained to standard
set by A.B.C.
Publications: Several professional articles & interviews published in O&P
literature.
Lectures: Over 160 lectures given to various community, medical groups, O&P
meetings on Orthotics and related subjects.
Recognitions: Listed in over 26 professional Who's Who Directories.
Recently awarded title of Life Patron of the American Biographical
Institute or LPABI.
Experience: Technician, practitioner, clinician, marketer, lecturer,
business manager and business owner.
Desires & Joys: I enjoy practicing all facets of Orthotic patient care, with
a particular appreciation for the post-polio patient and children. Over the
years I have applied and maintained many Halo's with the physician involved.
I thrive on having very orderly business affairs as a manager and welcome the
opportunity to tackle terrifying disorder. Usually there is a lot of
revenue to be gleaned from the existing records in most O&P offices, if I am
just allowed the time and competent staff to do recalls and finish off
hanging projects. I take great delight in clinical participation, where we
are appreciated, not just treated as the vendor / salesman.
Current Staff Appointments: Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospitals in
Beaumont, Houston, Humble & Texarkana, Texas. (There have been many others
in the past)
Professional Positions History: 40 years of continous experience in O&P,
during which I have either owned, managed or otherwise had direct
responsibility of patient care in over 10 facilities in Alabama, California,
Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Texas.
Goals: To work as a contributing member of society and contribute to the
welfare of Humanity. I will retire in 2009 with full social security, but
never stop working for the good of mankind. I have acquired much knowledge
and many skills in the O&P profession and I enjoy sharing these in a
nurturing environment.
Availability: My wife (Pam) and I are available now to discuss your needs
and see how I can contribute to your success. We will gladly come to your
facility to meet you and see if our needs would be a good match. Additionaly
if you have a need, she is trained as a Mastectomy Fitter and will work
part-time.
