This is a urgent e-mail to solicit your immediate help in writing letters
to
the Florida legislative committee members whom will be considering
a legislative bill amendment,HB 337 on January 19, 2000 to eliminate the
required entrance examination testing of ALL Florida O&P practitioners.
The 1997 successfull O&P regulation legislation is under siege by a few
whom have failed or do not wish to take ANY entrance qualification exam to
determine a candidate's competency to become a licensed O&P health
care provider.
Out of state practitioners could also be exempt to practice in Florida.
This bill amendment could allow unqualified practitioners to treat children
and adults with orthopedic disabilities, and removes the current requirement
of both formal education and examination.
I will forward attachments or fax copies of sample letters that you can
draft
your own letter from.
Upon request I will also send you the list of legislators on this committee
and a fact sheet to help you compose your letter upon your reply.
If you feel it is not safe to assume that ANYONE who has worked 5 years in
a medical field should be qualified as a licensed professional, please
reply
in opposition!
Thank you!
Kindest personal regards,
Tony Barr

address
your concerns.
