List serve prosthetists,
I am interested in your experience with pneumatic air cells in
prosthetic sockets. Our primary interest is in transtibial
applications. Do you have experience with any of the following?
1. Otto Bock air contact system
2. Pump It Up! socket volume insert system
3. Pneu-Fit air cell
4. IPOS pneumatic volume control system
Questions:
Are there others in use?
Do you encourage continual adjustment or use them constantly inflated?
What range of ply difference can be achieved?
Patient response to pressure in cell areas?
What do you consider the most appropriate application?
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
