Hello to all,
This case is about a 16 years male who had a injured C5 Lesion in a fall.
He was operated for compressed vertebra. Post operation for one month there
was no improvement in the case untill one day his right leg showed
movement.
The neuro sergeon had given the opinion that the patient will not be able
to walk. Post operative after two months physiotherapy was started and is
on as of now.
A month back <8 months post-operative>the patient was given a KAFO for left
leg. This enabled the patient to stand up and attempt walking.Currently the
patients left side is weaker than his right. But his left hip adductors are
relatively strong.
The patient cannot sit or raise himself to stand up and needs assistance.
Thus now when the patient attempts to walk and when he applies weight on
the right leg, his left leg automatically is draged to his right in a _I
orientation. There is no appropriate space between his feet.
1.How to correct his left foot's orientation and also increase the space
between his feet.
2. Is the correct orthosis provide, if yes then is any extra modification
is needed ?
Please advice.
Shilpa.
