Action Orthotics

Text:

I can't believe something I witnessed this past weekend.
I attended a home improvement show in Cleveland.
Among all the window and roofing companies was a
company called Action Orthotics. They were offering
relief for foot and back problems with pre-fabricated
plastic inserts. They were charging $365.00 for a
pair of custom-fitted foot orthotics.
I decided to play devil's advocate and started
questioning the salespeople. I asked what credentials
each person possessed since both were diagnosing
people's foot problems. The one male indicated that
he was a pedorthic intern. Yeah right! He started to
get nervous and the people waiting in line began
putting away his/her credit cards.
When he indicated that he was going to become
a certified pedorthist, I laughed and indicated that our
code of ethics clearly states we provide only with a
written prescription from a physician.
That was the best part of the entire show. Anyone
else have a similar experience? It annoys me to no end
that this company is doing this. Thanks for letting me
vent.
