Dr Radcliffe,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply. I hope that you will be able to
bring additional illumination to the following questions.

The Sach may be functional and certainly enhanced with knowledgeable
adjustment and alignment.

1)What advantages then, are obtained with single axis and multiaxis feet? Can
we make a distinction between functional and optimal?

On a different Matter...
2) With regard to your other area of expertise, what type of patient
(i.e.level of strength, flexibility, and length of residual limb )
is a 4 bar knee preferred over a weight activated stance control knee.

3) Should we be paying attention to the specifics of the 4 bar knee geometry?
Are there optimal centers of rotation for different limb lengths

4) When do we want the highest virtual center of rotation?

5) Does having a higher virtual center of rotation make it easier for the
amputee to initiate swing-is it truly a shorter lever arm and therefore less
effort.

Thank you. Your presence in this forum means a lot to me.

Sincerely,
Mark Benveniste CP
