Lisa you make some very good points, and I think you probably represent the
majority in your comment that we, as a group want more autonomy, but not less
efficiency.

But I would like to put forth several points in regard to efficiency....

I personally do not see efficiency as the sharing of a coffee pot, or
conference room. Rather, I see it as the overall effectiveness of the
organization that I am paying to support/represent me. Under the lumped
together national office, I feel that I am paying dues to my professional
group(AAOP), and realize representation that is more of a supplier side
nature(AOPA). Some may see this as two sides of the same coin, and that is
precisely the mentality we, as a group, must END...

Here is why:

We all complain that we are not salespeople, I hear we are professional
all the time.... Sorry folks, we are a bunch of salespeople in the eyes of
lawmakers and in the system, because we are in bed with the same product
we provide.... It's very simple, as long as we remain a single national
office, we will not be recognized as the profession we are striving to
become...

One may say, I am a professional, because I act that way.... OK..... prove
it NOT in your own mind, but in front of a politician, or for that matter, a
court of law..... think about it....

My $.02, thanks for your time....
