Dear <Email Address Redacted> :
Reading you written word, I have a feeling that you would like to get into
the ring with the prosthetists or prosthetists that done you wrong and get
some satisfaction. I would like to know if you did any of the following:
1. Contact the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics
for any matter concerning your mistreatment.
2. Contact the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association for any concern
you have re: product or its availability.
3. Even if you have had the experience with 2 consecutive prosthetists have
you followed up on their qualifications. Were they academy members? What
was their participation professionally? How does the medical community see
them.
4. If you cannot get good people in your area, then try to drive elsewhere.
You undoubtably have seen many prosthetic ads. welcoming your interest.
5. We are all humans, and angelic standards and holy treatment, and outcomes
always exist in heaven, not so on earth. I want the best services for myself
and family but don't always get them. I have a special car, that has had the
engine redone 3 times in three years paid for out of my pocket because
someone just did not know what they were doing. So don't think your the only
one.
6. Your blind accusations are really tiring to listen to when generalizing
about the whole field. I have been in practice 25 years, never a malpractice
suit. Why? Not because I am perfect, but because I listen. It only takes a
maximum of two weeks to find out if the definitive prosthesis is not living
up to our (the patients and mine) expectations. Hopefully with trial
sessions in and out of the office that does not happen often. I have had, as
many O an P professionals make thing over. There is no profit financially,
but they is a big profit in mutual trust. And yes sometimes it is not our
fault either.
I hope that you anger lets some of my comments be heard.
Be well, RLFCPO
