I am looking for information regarding the Florida licensing requirements. I have in the passed inquired about my qualifications and have been told I do not qualify. The information was given to me by individuals who I was told understood the requirements.

I have been involved in O&P for over twenty years. I am presently the manager of the Orthotics and Prosthetics department at a major medical rehab center in the Southeastern United States.
I have been certified in Orthotics since 1984. I presently possess an Associates degree. Previously I practiced in Florida for approximately 17 years as an Orthotist. I was half owner of an Orthotics facility for over nine years in Florida. At no time did me or the company have any problems with local or state authorities.

From my interpretation of section 468.805 Licenser without examination; provisional licenser I should qualify to practice in Florida in the future if I ever want to.

If anyone is able to give me definite information regarding my qualifications for Florida state licenser I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Norm Yankus, C.O.
