I've just seen an old client of mine for fitting with a new pair of legs.
He is a 40'ish medical professional with a right very short BK and a left
KD. As my experiences with shock absorption on bilateral amputees has been
uniformly positive I would like to add this to his new prostheses. He has
worn Otto Bock torque absorbers for years and refuses to give up that motion
in the new prostheses. That leaves me thinking of shock units that also
offer torsional capabilities. My only experience here is with the Total
Shock, does anyone who has had experience with both the TT and Total Shock
units care to share their assessment of one unit verses the other? He has
excellent insurance (no fault) so cost is not the primary concern, we are
more interested in smoothness of operation and durability. Does anyone know
of an additional unit offering both shock and torsion that I should be
considering?
I will post a summary of responses to the list.
Thank you,
Ted A. Trower C.P.O.
