Greetings,

I am seeking guidance on locating relevant archives for a book-length
project on the history of prosthetics in the UK (ca. 1850-present).

I have consulted a number of key archives in and around London, but I have
not yet been able to locate any scientific and business records pertaining
to the invention, construction, and marketing of prostheses. I am
particularly interested in examining trade literature, patent records, and
technical drawings from the period ca. 1850-1920. I would also like to
track down additional sources (written, printed, and visual) relating to
the use of prostheses by disabled children and injured workmen, especially
factory workers and miners.

Would anyone know of relevant collections, located either in the UK or in
the United States?

Please respond off-list to: <Email Address Redacted>

Thanks so much for any help you can offer.

Sincerely,

Jeff Reznick
