Prosthetic fingers for a musician

Text:

I would like to know if anyone has any experience making prosthetic fingers
for a musician, specifically a guitar player. This patient suffered a
traumatic injury which resulted in the loss of only a small portion of the
tips of both his index and middle fingers. The loss to the index is
approximately 1/4 and to the middle about 3/8. His nail beds have
regenerated and are growing normally.
The problem lies in the fact that these digits are now just short enough to
prohibit him from playing certain chords. I have explored reducing the
thickness of the neck of his guitar but we need a prosthetic solution. To
further complicate things, he cannot have a device that greatly reduces his
ability to flex both his pip and dip's.
In addition the tips must be tough enough to withstand the pressure of the
frets and strings. This gentleman makes his living playing on the Grand Ole
Opry. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
