TORQUE ABSORBERS?

Description

Title:

TORQUE ABSORBERS?

Text:

Dear Colleagues,

I rarely see torque absorbers on AK prostheses that come through our clinic,
and it rarely occurs to the prescribing team to include a torque absorber in
the prescription.

It occurs to me that I/we may be overlooking something fundamental in
building AK prostheses.

I would like to know when people consider it appropriate to use a torque
absorber. Looking at Otto Bock's Technical Info Bulletin, it seems we should
be using them as much as possible from a biomechanical standpoint

Please let me know your perspectives on this.

Sincerely,
Mark Benveniste CP
