Twelve months of residency (aka, supervised practice under a master) is
no where nearly enough to assure seasoned and talented grasp of the work
and avoid what will otherwise be merely trial and error fitting
inflicted on amputees with no guarantee of success. Anyone
can pass a certification hurdle....and passing, by itself, in NO way
assures fitness to practice independently. The certification is
desirable but not the sine qua non, which will always be talented
accomplishment by the hands and comprehension of the prosthetist. GB.
