Thanks for the replies. Many just stated that lightness is in the
fabrication process not just the knee. The question was to find the
lightest exo knee/hydraulic swing control combo.
You might want to check into the Durathane Knees at Hosmer. It is
lighter and stronger than wood exo systems. They will take almost any
control unit you want. I also suggest you talk to Jim Skardoutos their
central fab manager. He can give you some guidelines on how to hog out
the center to make it even lighter.
The lightest exo prosthetic knee unit I have used is the Otto Bock 3K5. It
is designed for geriatrics and as a swimming leg. It is important to
follow
