A friend and classmate of mine who is not yet on O&P-L asked me this
question. I don't have any experience here, anyone else? You can respond
directly to Jeff Linton CPO at: <Email Address Redacted>

Thanks

--------------

I casted a 12 year old bilateral congenital BK on Friday for water ski
legs. Have you ever done any? It will be a first for me. He is short, with
about 2 inches of tibia distal to the tubercle and about another 2 inches
of redundant tissue. Interestingly enough he had me cast him in full
extension and flatten the redundant tissue with my hand, pushing it proximal and
posterior. The casts look like the knees are flexed even though they are
not. Apparently he has a pair of stubbies that were made from casts
taken the same way. I casted him for SC suspension and past mid thigh. He
presently ambulates well with SCSP prostheses. Without any concrete
plan, initially, I am thinking stubbies-to-feet-to-waterskis. Any thoughts?

Jeff
