Responses re: Wrist driven splints.

Text:

I have been trying to reach Orthotic Systems in Houston regarding some of
their wrist driven flexor hinge splints. Left messages, no reply.

I would like to know if there is another source for similar splints.

Your help will be appreciated.

Ed Lydon, CO

I have used :
Jaeco Orthopedic Specialists
P.O. Box 75
Hot Springs, AR 71902
(501) 623-5944

They have wrist driven and finger driven flexor hinge orthoses available in
kit form or they will assemble them according to measurement or cast. I have
had very good results with their products. There is also a gentleman here in
Wisconsin at the University hospital lab that still makes custom tenodesis
orthoses from scratch. He is a true old fashioned craftsmen making every
part himself from stainless steel and all his welds are amazingly precise.
One of the last of his kind I believe. He can be reached at:
UW Hospital Orthotic Lab
600 Highland Ave.
Madison, WI 53792
(608) 263-8410
Fax (608) 262-8539

Sorry his name escapes me. Hope this helps.

I carry the Rancho style and Tirr style upper limb orthoses. I hae kits for
those who wish to do their own fabrication and I also fab for them that don't.

You can contact Becker Orthopedic at 800-521-2192 they carry the metal
(Rancho Type WDPOs) in kits, prefab., or custom.
Hope this is what you are looking for because I also had a time finding them.

Try JAECO Orthopedic Specialties, Inc. out of Hot Springs, Arkansas. The
phone # is 501-623-5944. They supply a very complete line of wrist-driven
WHOs along with many other devices.

Bernard Hewey, C.O.

Try Jaeco in Hot Springs, Ark. They've always done a good job for me.

Hi, in my orthotics class we fabricated WD-WHOs. The box the kits came in
was from Freeman. You might try them. I'll ask my instructor on Wednesday
to may sure of the source.

one of the best metalsmiths I have ever had the pleasure of working
with. His wrist driven WHOs look like jewelery. He can be reached at
