Dear Oand P List readers.
I have a student currently studying at the University of Salford in
the United Kingdom and he is interested in working in Europe and
abroad. His name is Keith George and he will complete his studies
and clinical placement year in September 2000. He is at present
making initial enquiries so that he may follow them up nearer the
time that he has completed his studies.
The questions that he has asked me to convey to all readers on this
site are as follows.
(1) Does your country recognise the British degree qualification?
(2) If not, then is there a procedure by which he can be
recognised in your country?
(3) Is it possible to gain employment in the Prosthetics and
Orthotics centres of your country upon completion of the British
degree, with the work experience that the final fourth year of
clinical placement at Salford has to offer.
(4) Would it be preferable to gain two years of experience in
Britain first?
(5) What are the work responsibilities of Prosthetists and
Orthotists in your country?
(6) What is the average pay scale of a qualified Prosthetist and
Orthotist?
(7) Could you please let me have some useful Prosthetics and
Orthotics centres addresses, so that I may contact them in my search
for future employment.
The countries and areas that he is interested in are:
Argentina
Australia
Canada: British Columbia, Yukon.
New Zealand: South Island.
United States of America: Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming,
Colorado, Montana, Alaska.
Please send any information to
<Email Address Redacted>
or to
Keith George,
Great Green Hill Farm,
Argos Hill,
Rotherfield,
Crowborough,
East Sussex,
TN6 3QH
United Kingdom.
Many thanks
Glyn
